He has also collaborated with educational institutions, notably the CÉGEP de Rouyn-Noranda, where he taught mineral technologies.

Over the years, Giovanni has held virtually every key position in the industry:

Student, junior mining engineer, foreman, captain, planner, teacher, shaft engineer, chief engineer, superintendent, technical manager, project manager, operations manager, general manager and international manager.This experience has given him a comprehensive view of the mining value chain and the challenges at every level.

Notable achievements

Rescue of the Seleine mine in 27 months, a $30 million project.

Uneventful sinking of the Louvicourt shaft.

Creation of the first underground mining school in West Africa.

Development of modular training courses in Georgia.

Integration of women and local communities in mining projects.

Mine rescue team leader for over 9 years.

Pioneer of new underground mining methodologies, notably at the Guiro gold mine.

A passion for passing on knowledge

Giovanni also defines himself as a committed teacher and passionate mining lecturer. He has trained hundreds of future mine managers, contractors, engineers and workers in the sector. For him, mine safety is an absolute priority - a veritable religion.

What he's up to...

PASQUALOTTI is currently working on the launch of two specialized books on the mining industry, in which he will share his unique experience, insights, successes and lessons learned in the field.
